A Celebration!

We got ourselves all clean and dressed up to go and celebrate Daddy's new job!

This is a first in a long time....a family photo! There were a lot of takes and this one worked....

We are so proud of you Daddy!

Happy Father's Day!

A special HAPPY FATHER'S DAY to Joe! We had a great day complete the with horse races again! Both kids were super excited about their gifts for Daddy this year! I might have to retake them...they seem hard to see!

Hmm...

So one day, my friend Megan came over to do an art project with the kids for their newly decorated bedroom. We were all so excited about it! Everyone listened at the beginning, followed directions, and patiently waited their turn. At the beginning that was....

then this happened. This is a common face and reaction in our house these days. From us picking out the wrong clothes in the morning (that really she picked out HERSELF the night before),  to the desperate need to change clothes if we get dirty or wet, to...oh wait....anything. She is really something these days and completely full of herself. Two days ago, she went into a serious timeout. A timeout where I had to ask Joe to leave and do something else because I did not think he was strong enough for it. It was a Mom timeout. Of continuous patience and waiting. There was no room for choices, Daddy, or perks. And I won. Which is all that really matters in the end.

That leads up to tonight. I found this little girl in several different places at bedtime....standing up in her bed, in the closet, standing on the windowsill between the curtain and window (but she has never been that adventurous before with her balance issues, so I was a little bit proud), to breaking her window shade, and finally to breaking their new artwork. John was no prize himself. He is also down a set of blinds. But I have to love when Virginia blamed this whole art-glass-destruction on John and I just went upstairs for the 6th time tonight....and this time to take a piece of glass out of her finger from this destroyed mess. Busted.
