October Eve

How can tomorrow be October already? AAHH!! I feel like time is moving so fast right now. I am pretty sure that I could never be a stay at home mom...it is too much work! I have a new respect for all moms (and dads) that stay home full time. I am enjoying it but it is going by so fast!

So sweet!!!

If I Was Ever Thinking....

that triplets was a good idea...I now know I would have been wrong. Whew....three 11 week old babies in one house for 24 hours was plenty! It became clear that I could have never handled three. Or I guess I could have but I would have to give up my internet addiction and there certainly would not be any blog posts!

John and Virginia had a great time with Riley! She was a doll and super fun...we loved how she smiled at us! Tessa...come back any time. We can come to you next time...Brendan we missed you!

P.S. We got a bunch of coupons in the mail yesterday...THANK YOU everyone! Even the ones that had no return address or hello!

New best friends...

This is John trying to flirt with Riley.

Riley got really excited when John came over...she started kicking her legs and making some noises. I think Riley Koontz sounds great! He is clearly super interested...

For those of you wondering Riley was born full term a week or so after they were. Poor little Virginia has come a long way from that 2 lb. stage of her life.

This is what a triple stroller would look like. Yikes! We actually saw one at the hospital and it had a steering wheel. It was no joke.

JMU Girls

So my JMU girls came this weekend to play with the babies. We had a great time catching up! Sandy...we miss you!!!

They could not believe how alert the babies are getting. They are starting to focus on your face and follow you a bit....I mean the babies, not the JMU girls.

Update: The runny nose is running clear now!

Jessie was a trooper at 1:00 a.m. when she was feeding one of the babies!

Too bad there was not a 3rd baby for Ryan to hold. Just kidding!

Mary loved holding both babies....and her own in her belly! John can't wait to meet Baby Boy Light!!

Thanks for the "Chicks Dig Me" shirt Aunt B!!

John kept covering himself up with the pillow....too cute!

Well...

after all of those safety measures...we have a RUNNY NOSE! And a yellow one at that. Yikes! Poor little Virginia has a bit of snot coming out but she is doing great! No fever, no cough, no issues eating...so the Dr. says she is ok. We put a few saline drops in her and called it a day.

Joe was also thinking he may be coming down with something...so this is what he did to be safe. Wow.

Those Darn Hemangiomas....

Some of you may know that we went to see a Neurosurgeon today! Yikes! Our pediatrician wanted us to get Virginia's hemangioma on her back checked out. It is right on the spine and they wanted to make sure it was only on the surface and not underneath. So we headed to the Dr. today and got two ultrasounds...she did great and was a trooper. Everything is fine and looks great on her...so no worries!

P.S. Thanks Grandma for watching John today....it was the first time they have ever been separated! Luckily she was here to save all of the tears that the babies were fighting back being away from each other. Ha.

DVR Devastation

We had an incident. The DVR broke. Now we have not been quite on the ball watching our shows...so there was some footage on there. Not to mention that this IS premier week. Ugh. So we called Verizon twice. They assured Joe it could be resolved. Then it came out that we were going to loose all of our DVR recordings. Ok. Calm down. Breathe. We would get a new box on Wednesday. Can I survive until then? Ok. Go to the DVR. Prioritize. Sure we can watch a bagillion shows before we need to hook the new box up on Wednesday. I clicked on the DVR button and surprise it did not work. Broken. Can't watch any shows. Breathe. Get a drink. Try it again. No luck. Call 1-800-VERIZON. Stay on hold for 43 minutes.

Jeff from NY answers. I can already tell this is not going to go my way. I ask Jeff to let me see what I have recorded and what I have planned to record so I can make some notes and try to find things on the internet. Jeff was not having it. He kindly let me know, "Maam...I can't stay on the line while you write down your shows." Then I politely reminded him that the message I heard for 43 minutes said that Verizon would do their best to solve my problems and "this is a SERIOUS problem".

Finally he let me write the shows down but he was not happy about it and got off pretty quickly after that. So...we have no shows. No taping tonight or tomorrow. When he reminded me that he overnighted a new box...I reminded him that overnight actually means OVERNIGHT and Wednesday was NOT overnight. So just stop calling it that. Seriously. The highlight for Joe was when I said, "I don't know how important tv is to you since you work for Verizon...but it is pretty important to the rest of us...." The low point for me was when I asked "Are you just being mean to me because you feel like I am being mean to you?"

Oh yeah and bonus....both kids cried the entire time I was on with Jeff. Super. It earned no bonus points with him. Clearly.

We found tvdome.net. We will see what it can do.

Score: Virginia 0 Virginia's Fingernails 1

Some serious play time!!

On the move...

We are starting to get little movers in the bed. Right now we have them both in one crib side by side but each morning when I get them out...both have pushed down to the bottom of the crib and have their legs propped up on the crib. Hilarious. Who ever said bumpers were bad...not here! We really should move them long ways in the crib but then we will need to start using both cribs. No! They are growing up toooooooo fast! Not to mention they are grabbing things and starting to look at us....

His legs propped up on the bumper!

Got Crabs?

Insert joke here. I don't know how many of you know that Joe is from Maryland...and apparently they do crabs there. I had NO idea when we started dating. I mean really...no idea. I was judged initially on a crab scale...not if I was nice or got along with everyone. But it was based on crabs. I had NEVER picked crabs before. At Red Lobster...they always had them nice and prepared. I guess I earned points because I ate crabs like his granny...with butter and crackers. Little did they know that I ate it that way so it would seem more filling. But if it earned me points, I was taking it! These days I just sit near people who share...thanks Granddaddy...and hope for sides. The first time I went with Joe's family to a seafood restaurant, I got a club sandwhich. I have never been able to recover. Shame...

So the point is...we took the kids to their first Crab Fest and concert! All in one day! We went to our neighborhood crab party! Joe got his first and last crabs of the summer...don't tell anyone from Maryland that he ate them in Virginia...and Richmond no less. And the kids heard their first Jimmy Buffett cover band!!!!!!!!!

Loving the band....

Clearly the noise was bothering him...

Delicious...even in Virginia.....

Family day out!
