Parties

We were off last weekend to visit with my friend Graeme and to celebrate Ryan's birthday with a bug party! The kids were super into it!

Then we visited the Thompson family....I taught two of their three kids back in the way old days of my time in Alexandria and babysat for them for years! So fun to take my three kids to visit with their family! How time has flown by!

This kid has 4 teeth and is getting two more....get a bib! So much drool!

Strangers often say she looks just like me. Here it is just not seen.

We moved William to the next car seat. Should have done it months ago. Look how huge he is in this seat!! This is the new one!

I thought this was comical. This is the amount of stuff we took and brought home to a party on our street. Where we live...it is not like we were traveling. Goodness. And this is minus the actual three children present in the photo.

Worn Out

So this is what tired looks like. We left him playing in his crib. And we finished the baths for two other darlings. Then upon the return, he had just played himself out. And apparently it happened  again tonight while I was off winning my earnings at Bunco! So sweet............

And mind you...after a day for the big kids at daycare....here is how it went down.

John: Daddy....how is your breakfast?
Virginia: It IS dinner John. Not breakfast.
John: Well....Daddy...how is your dinner?
Virginia: Listen folks. I am just calling it as I see it.

Then we played with a new activity that Grandma sent!

The activity was to draw the picture with the colors and then try it on your own. Score! Success! John loved this! He loves to draw and was so proud of himself!

And then there is Virginia.  Refused to draw but rather put Santa stickers on it. Love it! Until she goes to organized preschool where you need to follow directions! And I never actually know what she knows. She won't write her name, refuses to count with us, etc. She says "I will just do it later." Then the other night, she was feeling it and we went through the letters and she knew like 20 of the 26 letters.  I had no idea that she knew more than V. That girl! I think the frustrating thing for me is that she is exactly like me!   What our future must hold..........and I know my Daddy is laughing because this MUST have been what I was like.......

So this is strange...

but my friend Liz went to a restaurant in Lynchburg called Market at Main and this was the kid's menu....  It is not often you see these names together! So fun!

Fun Facts Part: Who Knows

I have no time to research what my last fun fact number was. Moving on!

Fun Facts About Virginia:
*Virginia is actually hilarious. In everything she says. This morning, it was (as she was walking into John's room) "John....YOUR MOTHER wants you to get dressed."
*Her favorite word is "actually...." And she is always right in whatever it follows!
*She loves to go in and wake up the baby in the mornings. So sweet. And bless his heart if he is not actually awake.
*Her routine nature is shocking. And like a mirror image.
*She loves to play barbies, dolls, read books, and draw.
*Yet, she still refuses to draw anything real and flat out will not write her name.
*She hears me getting ready in the morning and loves to come downstairs with me to help with the bottles and packing my lunch.
*She is wearing size 5 pants/shorts/skirts but size 5/6 shirts.

Fun Facts About John:
*John is such a sweetheart when playing with the baby. He just loves for the baby to pay attention to him.
*I don't think he has a favorite word, except maybe "Ginia!" which is what he still calls Virginia.
*John is a teenager. When I go into INITIALLY to wake him up, he struggles to get up. Then I give him 10 minutes to think about it. During this time, he typically turns off all of the lights, closes his door, gets under his covers, and shouts out "Just 5 MORE MINUTES!"
*He is very good though after he wakes up and makes his bed every morning. Good helper!
*He loves to read, watch tv, play outside, and talk about the pool opening.
*He is a great artist and still enjoys writing his name. He also likes to count with me and talk about how to spell his name. Virginia just looks on and wants no part of it, even though she can do it!
*After going to "sleep", he often surprises us downstairs just for fun.  No wonder about the morning issues.
*John is wearing size 5 pants and mostly size 6 shirts depending on the shirt!

Fun Facts About William:
*William is the most content baby ever. He has such a sweet personality. But I think it might have some wild tendencies.
*He is sitting up and starting to think about crawling. And such a strong thing!
*After his tube surgery, he was fussy for like 10 minutes, ate fine, and did not sleep a bit. Even though they said he would be cranky all day and really tired.
*Obviously, he is not a big day time sleeper but sleeps from 7 to 7 unless it is the weekend....he sleeps until we get him up.
*He is eating baby food, mashed things, and starting to eat table food.
*William is a monster baby. SO big. Wearing some 12-18 month separates but fully in 18-24 month one pieces. And his car seat is slowly getting too small.
*He hates getting his nose wiped or picked. But that might be it.

I am sure there are a million more things....

Big kids!!!!

So I often get asked if my kids are in Kindergarten or 1st grade. What? Folks...they are three years old! But when you get an "official" id for them. I guess I see it. At least William's pool pass does not have his picture yet. Which also reminds me that I am starting over in the pool world. Last year, I could read at the pool. This is now two years away. At least. Sigh.

The other morning, Virginia said "I just don't understand why we have to do ALL of this work ALL of the time. Why can't we just go to the pool and relax..." I hear ya! And it is still questionable what this "work" is she is referring to.
