Race Day

My school provides a wonderful running program for our students to train for the kid part of the Monument 10K here in Richmond. We went to the final training for support...and everyone wanted to join in! John is stretching behind our friend Katy!

William was not to be left out....he got right in it! And so much so that I had to pull him out of the start line several times!

The kids shocked me and ran the whole mile race! Must be their Aunt Meaghan in them....they certainly don't get running from me! And Virginia did it with a cast and boot on. Only one minor blister resulted!

John ran faster than I could for sure! But he was exhausted at the end.

And William was interrupting the finish line too. Although I don't think he has a runner's build in him, he wanted to be part of it all!

Crossing the finish line!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

We are home for snow but really ice today! I am pretending that these pictures are from today because I have no interest in getting everyone dressed and out again! Boo! What a winter....these pictures are from the last storm. We had a lot of sledding practice this winter!

The leprechaun came to visit us again today! The big kids were in awe of the potty water again. It never gets old to them! But William wanted NO part of it.....

Catching up!

I don't know why we have been so busy lately....wait maybe I do! Three kids, jobs, snow, Joe finishing his doctorate, etc. It has been a crazy time here! Virginia has been doing some physical therapy to increase her leg strength and also to work on stability and coordination! They suggested getting serial casting for her. The short of it is that she will get a cast each week for a period of 4 weeks. When they take the cast off, they will measure and fit her next cast accordingly to her flexibility. We did the first one this week and she did great. She said all along she wanted a white cast but the only colors they offer in this cast are pink and blue. So she went blue! It can't be made waterproof so bath and the now impending snow storm should make for some fun parenting time ahead!

We are also finishing up gymnastics! It had a good run but we are ready to move on to something new....up next, the kids picked karate! So that should be something!

William might just be the biggest kid ever! Good grief!
