Happy Half Birthday William!

Well William....we celebrated your half birthday with a trip to the doctor! Oh my! Another ear infection...so we are off to get tubes in the next two weeks! It is kind of a shame that we must put it off one more week so you can enjoy the hopefully warm weather at the beach next week. Yikes! At least we made it to the 6 month mark!  And he was laughing at dinner last night as Joe and I had a night out with only one child! Thanks Grandma and Granddaddy!

Bowling

I have been wanting to take the kids bowling FOREVER!  Obviously since Joe (at one time in his life) was  an avid bowler....own ball and shoes to go with it! But we never managed until a rainy St. Patrick's Day!  The kids were thrilled....well, after we visited the first bowling alley with a tournament happening. The let down in the car was unreal. So pathetic. So we searched on for another bowling alley and I even had a coupon for this one. Good thing. Anyone know how expensive bowling is? I was SHOCKED. And even asked the guy if he didn't count William. Score for Joe having his own shoes....saved us $5!

The kids had a great time!!!!  Virginia got very serious about our balls once another group came beside us. She was very worried that they were taking ours. So both kids dutifully kept track and made sure the balls were organized into the right sides once this started.

Poor William. Never gets a chance. No one would even hold him to feed him. Shame.

John quickly realized he was too good to use the kid ball roller....and you can't go bowling without some crack showing!

I got it.

Nope. Maybe I will throw it. Luckily, not one ball landed on another lane. And he really did not throw it....just thought about it for a minute.

Pure fun! And she looks like she is 13.

All was great until a smack on the chin and the balls not coming back around fast enough. And we were done!  After several calls to the front desk to retrieve our balls...the manager came by with some free coupons for us all for three games and a no shoe charge! Whew. That maybe made me feel better for how much we spent. Goodness!

Out on the way home. Too much fun.

Happy St. Patrick's Day

Oh William....we really try to reuse these outfits but they are just not big enough. But they should be! With John's adjusted age from his preemie days....they should be right with each other. But they just are not. This is John's outfit and it was a smidge small. I had to eventually undo the bottom snaps (because they were leaving marks) and put some pants on this kid.

Here is John in the same outfit. Such chubby babies! SO cute!

Ready for the party at daycare! Cheers!

Fun Facts 2013

Fun Facts About Virginia:
*She is such a factual child. She can remember anything, anytime, and what you were wearing.
*When asked recently how old she would be on her next birthday, she stated "Four years old on July 11."
*Virginia is wearing size 5 clothes at 3 1/2 years old. And size 6 bathing suits. Long torsos are a must in this house.
*She is very organized and likes things in a certain order. She must get this from her father.
*Virginia is an excellent helper. She knows what the baby needs, wants, or is always willing to get what we need.
*In her new room, she loves her new bed. She does not even want us to pretend sleep in there. Poor John.
*For a while, Virginia was trying to show her independence by pooping at nap time and cleaning it up herself (plus getting her business on my carpet and such). Great independent qualities for later adult hood but as a toddler, she was not earning points. In fact, she has not done it since I threatened (after I removed all of her toys, sheets, everything into the hallways), that she was going to have to sleep in the hallway because I was OVER moving her stuff out. And poor Joe told her that he was pretty sure I was serious. I was.
*She is obsessed sleeping with Toto. He naps when she does and often needs a rest since napping was so hard.
*But sometimes she does not pee her pull-up at night which gives me hope that I can one day let one set of diaper products go!
*She could care less about writing her name or drawing actual pictures, but she can tell you a lot of numbers and letters.

Fun Facts About John:
*He is such a boy. He could care less about details unless they involve his toys or food.
*When asked recently how old he would be on his next birthday, he stated  very clearly "Older."
*John is wearing size 5 pants and 5/6 shirts.
*He is very laid back. At times. Mostly he follows whatever Virginia thinks is important and either goes with that or the opposite.
*John loves to entertain the baby. He LOVES getting a response from him.
*He still wants to sleep in Virginia's room. Bless his heart. But luckily, we have not found him sleeping at the door anymore.
*John likes to wait to poop until bedtime since I am leaving his door open now. I think he likes the independence and privacy of the late night pooping solo.
*He loves having his own space even though he misses the night time aspect of Virginia. He drinks so much he can still pee through a pull-up at night.
*John can officially write his name and draw pictures of actual things.

Fun Facts About William:
*William is super interested in tv and people's faces. He is not at all interested in rocking in a chair or music.
*He is almost 6 months old....and will be getting tubes soon. Sad!
*He is in 12-18 month separates and quickly scooting to 18-24 month one pieces. Seriously....long torsos.
*Presently, he is showing signs of wanting to walk. Not crawl. Or sit up unsupported. Too baby he is too top heavy to do any of these things.
*He is eating 3 meals of baby food a day. But he stares intently at any food or drink you have.
*William sleeps only little cat naps throughout the day, but always sleeps 7:30-7:00 in his crib. He even entertains himself if we don't get him in the morning. I attribute that solely to laziness on our part.
*He seems like he is the happiest baby ever.
*He loves to roll over, grab toys, and see what is going on.
*William enjoys the floor but hates tummy time. Thank goodness because tummy time = crawling. And no one here wants a crawler!

*They love when Daddy gets them from daycare because they get slurpies!
*Shows they enjoy are the Little Einsteins, Mickey, Jake and the Neverland Pirates, Doc McStuffins, and Dora. Our favorite movies as of late are the Wizard of Oz, Peter Pan, and Beauty and the Beast! Classics!
*They love to play outside in the backyard (by themselves) and with their bikes.

Overall, the big kids have been super sweet with William and everyone despite busy schedules are doing great!
