Young Love

During our play date with Katy...John fell in love. Again.
She was considering it....

And so he went for it....

And then shockingly....it was over. When Katy finds out that John gave her the hand-foot-mouth disease also....it will really be over.

It was a good thing that Megan and Nikki came over to help him recover.

Rough Couple of Days

What better to kick off the summer vacation than hand-foot-mouth disease??? For real! It is brutal!! We woke up Friday morning to a feverish John. Then after their naps, we realized that Virginia too had a 103+ fever! So we medicated them all day and then when John refused to sleep or eat....we had to break down and take them in! I really did not think that it was that serious but I guess it is. We had major fevers and neediness all weekend...but today we are back down to 99-100 fevers and finally playing again. It is amazing how much time you can waste in a Target when you need something to do but your kids can't be outside. Or walking the mall with the older ladies.

They really were just too hot for clothes. Pathetic little things.

Thanks Ryan for the popsicles....huge hit...and I am sure they made the disease sores feel better!!!

Drool...blisters...and all....and this kid can still get himself stuck under the stool.

And then to top it off, poor Virginia busted her lip last night. Blood everywhere....shame!

Dinner Out!

We went to the eye doctor yesterday....whoa. What a visit! Two hours and $150 later...we found ourselves sulking in the money wasted on unnecessary appointments at our local Chick-Fil-A! My mom will tell you that Chick-Fil-A really can cure a lot of things. The short of it is that both babies have perfectly fine eyes. Virginia needs to go back around age 4 to double check a small stigmatism/astigmatism (seriously...how is it spelled?)... The Dr. mentioned that John could come with her but I politely replied...."Not for $75 he won't!"

We had dinner with the Stepp Family last night. Brady loved on Virginia!!

John was a hot mess throwing rice all over the place. It is a good thing we go here often and the servers know that we make a little bit of a mess. And it was decided at dinner that I maybe need to retire this shirt of John's....I mean I did have to stretch out the arm holes.

Can you see the mess on John's face? And shirt.

Who can just walk on by the $0.50 mustaches...not the Koontz Family.

Right???

We finally had to let go of the exersaucer and jumparoo. Those kids were over it. Now we just race. Well kind of. John only moves backwards.

Happy Father's Day...and Happy Summer!!!

I know every day that I am a lucky girl. My husband is one of a kind. He helps me every day to manage our house, clean up, do house chores, and most importantly....he balances me out to keep me sane. Our children will one day thank him for that balance. But I wake up every morning and feel so thankful that I have him in my life.

TOP TEN REASONS YOU ARE A GREAT DADDY:

10. You play with the babies every day.
9. You don't ever fuss about putting toys together and changing batteries.
8. You change every crib sheet.
7. You give the best bath in this house!
6. You truly dislike change for the babies and you must be desperately convinced to let me change anything. And it is because you worry about the babies AND secretly don't want them to grow up.
5. You text pictures and videos of the babies to me when we are apart.
4. You can get any baby to sleep at any time when they are fighting it.
3. You often keep the babies and let me go to the pool.
2. You are very flexible as a parent.
1. The babies love you so much you can see it on their faces every time they look at you.

This was John's present to Daddy!!! It is for his office.

This is Virginia's present....she loved the paint!

They made these sweet mugs at daycare. So cute....the prints are their toes.

Matching Daddy and John shirts....we will be off to a Flying Squirrels game in no time!

The look on her face is weird....but I swear her eyes are getting bigger!

Happy Summer!!! I am done with school for the summer...and Joe has one more week. We are excited to spend the summer with the babies.

Happy 11 Month Birthday!!!

We are so sad that these babies could be 11 months old already!!! Yet....so happy that at this time last year, I was able to keep them in for 4 more weeks. What a wild time that was.

This was clearly an awesome morning.

Not one pic of them smiling at me. Oh how times have changed!!! Happy Birthday fun babies!!!!!

Pool Time

We have been getting in some pool time....at home and at the real pool! Thank goodness the babies love the water!!!

I wondered why this pic was on the camera....until I realized John successful completed his current life goal. To get Virginia's pacifier. Way to go buddy.

We can stand!

On the move!!!!!!!

The First Haircut

Poor John...it was time. Desperately needed when someone remarks...it kind of looks like a "fake Elvis wig..."

Thank you Patty and Ken for babysitting! We love having you over to play!!

When we went to visit Baby Ryan...we almost forgot he was there. What a doll!!

Can you believe I used to babysit these kids? And now they are old enough to babysit my kids. Crazy! I also had them in 2nd grade and they are so old now!! Thanks for coming to play Cristina, Cal, and Nolan!!!

We loved playing with Graeme, Connor, and Ryan!!

And then we were off to the Light house!! This is what it looked like to feed 4 of the 6 six kids dinner!! Yum!

Things Are Happening......

If Joe says it is true, it is true. John is crawling. And is a hot mess. Bless his heart...he also has 5 teeth coming in.

With the encouragement of Aunt Ashley this weekend, we dropped all bottles but the before bed bottle and are on sippy cups only! YES! It is great. Seriously so nice. Thanks Ash!!

And this girl only wants to hold it herself.

So proud!!!

Really?

This kid just looks like T-R-O-U-B-L-E!!!!!!!!

Was this picture taken in 2010 or 1978? You decide. And decide quick because this kid is getting a haircut. Stat.

Poor Virginia never moves and if and I mean IF...she ever does...it is by scooting backwards on her back. It is quite a sight.

And the hair argument goes no further.

Virginia and Cooper look sweet together!

Cousins!!!!! Happy Memorial Day babies!!!
