It's Football Season......
Well it's that time of year again!!! In my mind, football should be chilly weather but the season must start at some point. And in Richmond....it is always a hot start. We got our season tickets again to the University of Richmond football games....they can be credited for our free trip to Hawaii...so how could we say no???
Wipes necessary. Can you tell it was hot? She was literally sweating the entire time.
P.S. Thanks Aunt Meaghan for the bows.....they go great with our Spider gear!

Fun Facts Part 8
Fun Facts about Virginia:
*Her favorite sentences of late start with "No....no want to...(fill in the blank)."
*She had no trouble getting back into the daycare routine when she said, "Go ahead and go now..." to me.
*She constantly wants you to wear shoes. It's exhausting.
*This girl loves to pick out her own outfits. Every day.
*She loves the IPad and asks to play it daily. We are working on shapes and colors now in addition to her beloved monkey game!
*Virginia adores stickers and coloring. She has serious requests about what she wants you to draw.
*She loves to report when he is in timeout. Recently, he alerted me that he was in timeout at daycare. He said...."Mommy....I'm in imeout..." (forgetting the "t"...so cute!) And she cleared it up...."Mommy....John is in timeout because he made BAD choices..."
*When playing with sidewalk chalk, she draws a mess and claims they are pictures of Granny B, Paps, Grandma, and Granddaddy. At least the thought is there. But she can play a mean game of hopscotch. Well, kind of...since she still has not mastered jumping.
*We get quite the set of show tunes once she has gone to bed. She sings for an hour or so before actually falling asleep. This proved to be quite disturbing at daycare since she is sleeping on a big girl mat now.
*She loves, loves, loves the pool and will be sad when she has to stop "swimming", we have a swimmer on our hands. She jumps right in and does NOT want you to hold her.
*She is so tall that all of her 2T and some 3T dresses must be worn with leggings which she strongly calls "bloomers".
Fun Facts about John:
*John has become a talker! He is so excited to be able to express his opinions lately! Especially...."I have a poop!"
*He is into everything. Jumping on everything. Bruising everything.
*Bless his heart. He finally started calling Virginia "Yuh" and then "Ginia"....but has now taken a step back and calls her "John". Shame! Like when playing ball, he says "Ready John?" or in the crib, he says "Where is John?"
*He wants to play cars, bubbles, watch shows, and color...but he likes to color on the floor, chair, table, wall....he is not picky.
*It takes John a bit to warm up to the pool. He constantly asks "I got you?" because that is what I say to reassure him. Even though he would go on a roller coaster solo...apparently the pool intimidates him. But not jumping in....a big fan!
*We got a new-to-us-free log cabin! John does not prefer the door but he goes head first out of all windows.
*Disclaimer.....watch yourself when playing lately. He runs at you and jumps on your special places without warning. Lordy!
*We do think he slimmed down with the haircut and all of his summer fun! Quite the thin little one these days.
*He loves glasses but prefers to wear them on his head or on the backside of his head hanging low. Hopefully the UVA acceptance is easier in 2026.
*His hair seems to be growing slower post haircut. Sigh.
*They are hysterical in their cribs. I think they are ready soon to go to toddler beds but until the toy throwing between cribs and taking everything off of the walls phase has ceased....cribs it is.
*We finally let go of pacifiers in the car. They also don't use pacifiers for sleeping at daycare but when we get upstairs and in their rooms....they each still have one and it is top priority. Maybe a holiday goal.......
*We had an aggressive start to the potty. Both were SUPER excited and into it. Virginia peed on the potty several times. John peed while sitting ON the potty....but really he peed on the floor. Although he hasn't grasped holding parts down to achieve the goal...Virginia often exclaims "Look, I am holding mine down..." You think about it.
*They are serious about taking stuff to bed. I always say yes. And daily, Joe is in there taking "stuff" out. He is probably concerned about their safety.
We do think they are seriously fun at this age. And both of us are surprised every time they actually stay in timeout.
