The Great Pooh Incident

BEWARE: There are inappropriate photos on this post. Not for the weak tummy.

It was a beautiful day. Daddy was coaching a lacrosse game....that needless to say was "one of the greatest days of his life..." ...oh sports. Really? So I fed the babies dinner and we headed out for a walk. I decided to walk over to my friend Ryan's house to play. We get there.....are visiting...it is so lovely outside....when I hear her say "Holy Poop!" What? The babies are in the stroller. It could not be one of my babies she is referring to, right? I look over and they are both smiling and hanging out. And then it happened. I saw it. Virginia then lifted her leg. Oh no. There it was. All over the stroller. So we go check out the damage, it can't be that bad. We see it. Ok. It is bad. And then she had to go and move her legs in excitement that we were paying such attention to her. "Stop. Don't move!" we say....and then she moves her hands in excitement. Yep. That poop is now on her face. We then strategically plan the cleanup. But of course we had to get documentation first.

The cleanup went well. Ryan may or may not agree. She may or may not have poop in her car. She may or may not have poop on her clothes. But she surely has poop on her driveway considering I stepped in the mess and got it everywhere. Shame. Luckily it was a group effort and got it all cleaned up. Kind of. The stroller has seen it's better day. And on the walk home...we had a doggy bag of poop hanging on the stroller. But we don't have a dog. Nice start to the weekend.....

Notice the hands. Disaster.

Busy Yet Slow

We had a very busy week here! Boo! Yet it seems to have gone by really slow....and where was my camera all week? Who knows. At least there will be plenty of photos from this coming weekend.

P.S. I have 4 nephews....we learned to "tuck it down" a long time ago! :) We tried new diapers the other day....success for 2 nights. Last night, not so much. Off to try something new again!

I am sure you can register that morning as well if you are thinking about coming with us. I can't wait to do the blog post after the walk!

P.S. Pee Advice

So thanks for the comments....he does not wake up. We just find him soaked in the morning and have to change the dreaded sheets. I think it would be cheaper to buy the pullups than double up?? So whenever I get to the store...maybe when Grandma is here Tuesday/Wednesday we will try it. Until then....pee it is. The "overnight" diapers are just not cutting it.

Pee Advice

Ok...so John continues to pee through his diaper at night. We tried the nighttime diapers in his size and the nighttime diapers in the size up. Nothing is working. Thoughts?? I was thinking about using pullups?? They have some that go down to 18 pounds as the minimum and the kid weighs a healthy 21 pounds. Help!

A picture of us skyping last night....so cute!!!!!

Guest Post

So I have the kids this weekend up at the river house with grandma and grandaddy. My sister Meaghan and her family came by for the day as well. We made it to MD just fine. (How do parents use the bathroom on a road trip when they are by themselves? I regretted that second cup of coffee!) Allison wrote me a list of all the things that I need to do including feeding times and what to eat. When Allison packs and makes a list, it really isn't that hard to take care of two kids!!! I love you honey!

In all seriousness, Allison is amazingly organized and has made having two babies pretty easy. I appreciate it every day! She is an amazing mother and she puts up with "three kids" pretty well.

And because she has the day off...I thought I would give her a night off from blogging. Hope she doesn't mind.

Calling All Nebulizers....

So it occurred to us tonight as we were getting two babies ready for bed....that we are now nebulizing them both. With one machine. Ugh. If you are local and have a nebulizer that you would love to let us borrow (and promptly return in the same condition received....), let me know!!

Cookout

Well. This was a first. A bath at 6:52 a.m. Poor Virginia's diaper exploded. Literally.

Cookouts are super. Especially when you get to hand off two babies to willing holders.

The cookout wore John out. So sweet. And it would not be a stellar weekend if we did not have to take someone in to see the Dr.

Little Virginia finally got John's cough.....after 5 months. She is hitting the nebulizer pretty hard. Oh yeah and she has her bagillionth double ear infection. But we are feeling better now!!!

Happy 9 Month Birthday!!!

We had our 9 month checkup today with the Dr. It was quite funny when we talked about the babies being premature. He was certain that not one person that looked at them would ever think they were preemies. Shame. Clearly they have caught up in size and it turns out...he said that they are developmentally on track as well. Whew.

Virginia weighs in at 19 lbs. 10 oz. and is 27+ inches tall! She is in the 50th percentile all around.

John weighs in at 20 lbs. 11oz. and is 29.5 inches tall. Thank goodness he is taller than she is. Lordy. He is in the 70th percentile for weight and the 80th percentile for length.

Seriously. How is it possible that these little sweet things are 9 months old?

Reliving his memories from the beach.

So John has no tricks. Nothing. He held his bottle for a month. Gone now. He waved for a few weeks. Gone now. But what he can do....is play peekaboo by himself. It is all he's got.

Oh yeah...and Virginia got fangs. Wow.

The Beach!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The first day....so excited to be in a new place!!

And John's new playtime.....to get Virginia's pacifier. No matter what.

Guess which baby is the owner of this snack tray?

And this one?

Swim shirt? Check. Swim trunks? Check. Suntan lotion? Check. Ridiculous excitement? Check.

I guess the sea air did not agree with her nose this morning.

Ready to go to the Jimmy Buffett bar!

I finally gave Joe some alone time on the beach.

Ready for the pool!!!

Virginia loved it immediately. John took a few minutes to settle in but then he was loving it too!
