Shame

So we learned the hard way that the babies can no longer stay on the boppies on the couch unsupervised. Joe rounded the corner and found John on the floor. Shame. He was totally fine but it was quite a surprise. This is the first of many, many falls for this wild one. Karen....if you are reading, I totally thought of you during this whole experience.

We went to Joe's holiday party last night....yes in January! But it was so nice to see everyone! The babies were a bit unruly...to say the least. In their defense....it was somewhat of the witching hour for them.

Ready to party!

And the sad face begins....

That beer does not belong to her. But the table dancing....

The girls tried to get a picture of John without the tears. But why bother....just document what really happened.

And then we realized his pants were too tight.

Joe's Contribution

Joe has decided to join the blog as a part-time contributor. Here are his first two submissions. Wow.

P.S. You probably have to click on the picture to read it.

Busy, Busy, Busy

What a busy week! We are thrilled about the lazy snow days ahead!!!!

I am not sure there could be a cuter outfit.....

Adorable!

If he would stay on his tummy, he would be on the move!

Late Night Fun

So the other night....we hear John crying. This is not unusual by any means. He can be a touch needy at times. Joe goes in and puts his pacifier back in. Several minutes pass. The crying starts again. I am like...leave him. He will be fine. Then he starts wailing. Fine. You win. I get up. I go in and put his pacifier back in. But wait. He has moved up the crib. I move him back. Crap. I feel something wet. Really. It occurs to me that maybe, just maybe, he may have peed out of his diaper. I wait. I think a minute. I get a blanket out. Won't he be ok if I just slide this blanket under him? How bad can it be really? Hmm....parent of the year award. Alright, you win. Again. I pick him up and take him over to the changing table. Turns out it was poop too. I guess it was the right decision to move away from the blanket. But wait. The sheets. Ugh....why am I in here by myself? I force Joe out of bed to change the sheets. It was a wonderful bonding time for us. Ha. And then I realized it was only midnight. It had to be later than that.

After the sheets were on, the baby was dry, and I was back in bed....a flash of a face comes over my mind. Megan. Why did I not listen to her? Megan told me about a glorious invention. But I found out after we already had our sheets. I am reconsidering as we speak.

The sheet zips into a base. You literally just unzip and go. Totally out of my current belief system on prices I will pay for kid things. But this is a win win. Everytime you unzip that zipper....I can feel myself earning that money back. So if you need a gift for an expectant mom....tell her to take her sheets back to Babies R'Us and buy these for her! After another late night, I just may treat myself.

On another note.....

Lesson #6582 Learned: Do not give a little one Baby Orajel before you expect them to drink a full bottle. Turns out...it does actually numb the mouth.

A Tooth! A Tooth!!!!

I am pretty sure you can't actually see it....be we can!!! How is it possible that she has a tooth? And that we did not even know about it. She is so good...now John on the other hand has been acting like he got a tooth. But he didn't.

Her surprise!!!

We skyped with Riley today!! Beth was holding her and you can see us in the corner!!

Just in case they get married one day.....

Tessa and little Riley! So sweet!!

John's formula belly.

Just waiting to see Riley on sykpe.

We love weekends!!

Ready to ride!!!

Whoa horsey!

My obsession with this pink elephant continues....

Listen ladies....I know I look all man...but let's not kid each other. I love a pink elephant probably more than you and I call a blue rocking horse my ride.

Awww...

I was called "John and Virginia's Mommy" for the first time today by one of the sweet things at daycare. So cute!

Can I say that we got 6 month shots yesterday and that is why his legs are so "swollen"??

Really. This is a look Virginia gives John often. And probably for the rest of her life.

But how can you resist this kid?

They may or may not have just been pretending to sleep.

Whoa. I guess they did not give him any shots in his belly. Shame.

Holding our own bottle...for like one second! Bring it!

Boys....just watching football.

And us girls....playing dress up with these hilariously adorable boots.
