Lacrosse

We headed to Maryland last weekend for Daddy to play in a lacrosse game! It was a great day and a lot of fun to visit with Grandma and Granddaddy. I am not sure if it is obvious who is taking over on the better behaved list these days......it is a wonder....

Party of Five

When I asked Virginia why my belly was so big....she replied that "Mommy just ate too many cookies." We told her it was not cookies. Then she offered..."ok...maybe strawberries?" Nope. So we finally got down to the truth and told them that we were in fact expecting a baby. I am pretty sure I heard a "In our house?" John and Virginia both wanted it to be a boy! Yet Virginia wanted to name this baby Valerie Koontz...turns out because it also starts with a V. But John just goes for names he knows. So his first choice was Kristina Rilee Koontz (in honor of his best friend Katy's Mommy) and when I told him that it was not a boy name...he settled on the name.....Allison Koontz.

On Sunday night, I asked them one final time if they wanted the baby to be a boy or a girl. Both said boy.

Me: Well, great. What if this turns out to be a girl?
Virginia: Don't worry.
Me: Why?
Virginia: Don't worry Mommy...we will try for a girl next time.

Hmm...well, that's something.

So I suppose it is official...we are having a baby boy in September...and Virginia has been practicing her diapering daily.

Spring Party

We headed out to our neighborhood Spring Party. It was super fun for all! The high point was spending time with some of our friends. I think the low point was when we waited in line for 30 minutes for the face painting to only not get our faces painted...

or was it when I repeated SEVERAL times that "The pool is closed. No, we can't get in it..."

This was also a highlight for John!

We partied until the end. There was serious convincing that we actually needed to go home.

But a next day movie time did the trick!

A Visit With Grandma and Granddaddy...and Thomas

Hmm....a thinker on our hands? I am not sure about that...John is more of a do-er.

Now Virginia...she is a true thinker most times. Joe claims she is "wired" just like me. And this was a concern.

We visited Grandma and Granddaddy! They even took us to see Thomas the Train...and ride on him! What a treat!
